Out here, we are in our element in nature and for the past decade have been exploring, identifying and learning all about the plants and wildlife around our private 240-acre property. Along the way we’ve also learned about the history of this beautiful place. Many friends and guests have visited and learned about homesteading, yurt-living lifestyle, and the history of Jacobsville Sandstone and we want to continue to share our passion for our natural surroundings with others.

In every walk with Nature, one receives far more than he seeks.

Come enjoy this quiet corner of the Keweenaw that we call home. We offer various tours as seasonally allowed, listed below.

This guided snowshoe hike will take you through the woods, across pasture, and to visit two ponds that hold local historic value, former Jacobsville Sandstone quarries. Come enjoy the serenity of winter on our private 240 acre property on this 1.75 mile, flat-terrian hike. After our snowshoe hike we’ll visit the homestead livestock residents (rabbits, chickens, ducks, goats, and calves) and then return to the warmth of the yurt to finish the tour. Enjoy the warmth of the wood stove and sip on our handmade, locally foraged herbal tea. Click here for complete experience and booking details. If you’re looking for a kid-inclusive version of the snowshoe experience, contact me directly to make arrangements.
